I personally would rather play South or DB. Heck we lost all 3 but I also think it helps you even if you lose. So I suppose you should penalize a school for playing a tough OOC schedule and not playing a 3 win team and win by 40.....:2thumbsup:
Plus we beat PV, Kelly, Lebanon 3 times.....
GC played seven out of state games, you forgetting Letcher GC1? PV played one. PV beat GC, Kelly, Appalachia, and Wolfe County Ky a combined 6 times. Being close to TN benefits them and they took advantage of it, I don't fault GC, I fault they system.

I think we played only 6 out of state games and no, I didn't forget Letcher who we beat. You mentioned TN teams not KY. OOS games: South (2) DB (1) Letcher (1) Chatt Brainerd (1) Cherokee (1) that comes out to 6.
BTW, good win last night. Listened to it on the radio. Should be a good Region Tourney.
Re: Boys Region D Playoffs
You played 7 out of state games and won 1, you lost to Pulaski and Abingdon as well. Again, I don't fault GC, I fault the system. This might be the only system in the world where if you split with a team and they lose 7 more games while you lose only one (to a team ranked in the top ten) that they out seed you. It's a travesty but so is everything with the VHSL. It will only get worse with the travel budgets being cut in Wise County.

We'll just have to agree to disagree then. And in the end it doesn't matter who you play or where you're seeded nor where you're ranked. Nor does it matter if Appy was ranked in the top 10. What matters is where you are when all is said and done. Last year I wondered how Castlewood got the 1 seed, well they showed they deserved it and won the region crown in D-2.
Re: Boys Region D Playoffs
Not really, GC got screwed last year. PV is getting screwed this year. Seeding means a ton, last year GC got bit by the system and it's now our turn. You'd think the principals would get together and put a reliable system in place for the teams.
Re: Boys Region D Playoffs
so PV plays Coeburn @PV on Wednesday, does anyone have a time?

Different sport but the same outcome. I hope the cheerleaders do that same lame ass cheer they tried to do at the football game. I love booing them for that "sportsmanship" they showed as visitors.
Re: Boys Region D Playoffs
I could def. see Pound beating Hurley.
Neither team has any real size, and Pound has gotten great play out of their kids.
They scrap, claw and fight, which is a great attribute to have.
Ive never saw them give up or quit, PV had them down by 10+ points in the first quarter, scored 26 points, on pace to score 104, but Pound fought back, hung tough, and were in the ballgame the rest of the game.
So Pound def. has my respect, and they could beat Hurley
EDIT-
I wish I would become Hurley's football or basketball coach.
How awesome would be Hurley HC Hearl be? hahaha
